Participants should have a basic understanding of Ultrasound Physics and Principles, and be able to identify basic sonographic anatomy. 

Expect to spend 4 hours in the lab setting, using state of the art Ultrasound Simulators from Intelligent Ultrasound -BodyWorks and HeartWorks applications. There will be a short lecture to begin the day, and the rest will be all active participant scanning.

• Patient preparation, Probe selection and mechanics
• Knobology
• Normal anatomy
• Pathology
• Common Artifacts/Pitfalls
• Clinical application/Tips for image acquisition.
• Core Cardiac views and scanning windows
• Using these views to identify normal anatomy and typical patient presentation
• Cardiac Pathology commonly seen – Identifying Acute vs non-Acute
• Shock and Resuscitation identifiers and applying these methods
• Option to extend this course same day and add -on Advanced TTE Cardiac Scanning at a reduced price!

3 hour hands-on only workshop

Participants will spend 3 hours practicing hands-on scanning using both Ultrasound Simulators and live models. Course completion goal is to successfully demonstrate the meaning, application, and acquisition of manually calculated Ejection Fraction, EPSS, TAPSE, and Right Ventricle Strain and how to use these methods to treat acute patients.
