Participants should have a basic understanding of Ultrasound Physics and Principles, and be able to identify basic sonographic anatomy.
Expect to spend 4 hours in the lab setting, using state of the art Ultrasound Simulators from Intelligent Ultrasound -BodyWorks and HeartWorks applications. There will be a short lecture to begin the day, and the rest will be all active participant scanning.
3 hour hands-on only workshop
Participants will spend 3 hours practicing hands-on scanning using both Ultrasound Simulators and live models. Course completion goal is to successfully demonstrate the meaning, application, and acquisition of manually calculated Ejection Fraction, EPSS, TAPSE, and Right Ventricle Strain and how to use these methods to treat acute patients.
This course is customized for the EMED, ICU, or Anesthesia Provider. Depending on specialty the participant will learn additional views and calculations needed for advanced cardiac care using the Transesophageal approach. Participants should have a basic understanding of Ultrasound physics and principles, and be able to identify basic sonographic anatomy.
